Originally from Seattle, Bonnie Sessions grew up in the heart of the fitness industry: her father owned and operated a chain of athletic clubs. That experience propelled her on a career path dedicated to health and working with people; first as a surgical assistant, then as a bicycle store manager and eventually as the founder of a fitness equipment business. In 1991, she graduated from Lake Washington Technical School with a specialization in fitness and became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer the same year. Moving to California in 1991, Bonnie pioneered in 1996 the first personal training studio and Pilates studio in Ventura, California, which she successfully operated for a number of years. Her meeting with BASI (Body Arts & Science International) founder Rael Isacowitz in 2001 was a turning point in her career. Selling her studio to study and follow an intense internship with Rael, Bonnie joined an elite team of faculty, teaching the BASI approach of Pilates around the world and becoming a national and international presenter of health and fitness. In addition to recently resigning as a BASI Senior Faculty member, she currently owns and operates Pilates weights and Fitness, Inc in Ventura and Ojai, California.
Today Bonnie continues to enjoy an active lifestyle, with her love of the outdoors some of her favorite activities include, mountain biking, road biking, hiking, motorcycling, camping and more.
